Ordering a Higher Dose After Your First Order

This article explains why higher GLP-1 medication doses are not typically available during an initial order, why a licensed prescriber must approve dose increases, how to request a higher dose through your Levity account, and what happens after you submit a higher dose request. Use this article if you have already placed your first order and want to know how dose increases are reviewed.

Ordering a Higher Dose After Your First Order

To support patient safety and appropriate treatment progression, higher GLP-1 medication doses are not typically available during an initial order.

Any dose increase must be reviewed and approved by a licensed prescriber before a higher dose can be dispensed.

Why is approval required for higher doses?

Clinical safety

Increasing a GLP-1 medication dose should only happen when medically appropriate.

Your prescribing clinician may review:

  • Your response to treatment

  • Side effects or tolerability

  • Weight loss progress

  • Current medical conditions

  • Previous medication history

Gradual dose escalation helps reduce the risk of common side effects such as:

  • Nausea

  • Vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Constipation

  • Stomach discomfort

Prescription and regulatory requirements

A valid and up-to-date prescription is required before Levity can dispense a higher medication dose.

Dose increases must follow clinical prescribing protocols and applicable pharmacy regulations.

How do I request a higher dose after my first order?

1. Complete your first order and begin treatment

Patients are generally expected to begin treatment using the prescribed starting dose before requesting a higher dose.

This allows the clinical team to assess:

  • Treatment response

  • Side effects

  • Medication tolerance

  • Early progress

2. Obtain updated clinical documentation if requested

Some patients may be asked to provide updated clinical documentation supporting the requested dose increase.

This may include:

  • A provider note

  • An updated prescription

  • Relevant medical information

  • Progress updates or lab results where appropriate

3. Submit your request through your Levity account

To submit documentation for review:

  1. Log in to your Levity patient dashboard

  2. Open the “Support” or “Contact Care” section

  3. Upload any requested documentation

  4. Submit your higher dose request for clinical review

What happens after I request a higher dose?

Clinical review (typically 1–2 business days)

The Levity clinical team will review:

  • Your medication history

  • Current treatment progress

  • Side effects or symptoms

  • Supporting documentation if provided

Additional information may occasionally be requested before a decision is made.

Approval and pharmacy processing (typically 5–7 business days)

If the higher dose is approved:

  • Your prescription will be updated

  • Your next order will be processed at the approved dose

  • Pharmacy fulfillment and shipping timelines will follow standard processing times

Why are ongoing monthly check-ins important?

Monthly check-ins help Levity clinicians monitor whether your current dose remains safe, effective, and appropriate.

During monthly check-ins, clinicians may:

  • Review side effects

  • Assess weight loss progress

  • Adjust treatment plans

  • Recommend maintaining or changing your dose

If you experience side effects after increasing your dose, contact the Levity clinical team for guidance as soon as possible.
